Twin Tulip is a heartfelt tribute to both my Dutch heritage and the deep roots of family. The name carries two meanings close to my heart. “Twin” honors my beloved mother, a fraternal twin, who passed away unexpectedly in 2023—just eight months after her twin sister. Their bond was extraordinary, and their memory lives on through every petal and stem. “Tulip” reflects my Dutch lineage, where tulips have long symbolized love, passion, elegance, and new beginnings. In fact, during the 1630s, tulips were so treasured that one bulb was once traded for 12 acres of land—a testament to their timeless allure.

Family is the foundation of everything I do. My mother and aunt shared a deep love for flowers, a passion they passed down to me. Today, I nurture that legacy not only with my own family, but with friends and clients who become part of the garden we’re growing together.

Based in Northern Virginia, Saskia Florence has a unique background rooted in music and community service. She holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University, respectively. Her years as a professional violinist, performing at countless weddings, concerts and special events, gave her an insider's perspective on what makes an event truly memorable. About the floral skills…well being Dutch - it’s just in her blood.

Building on this experience, Saskia honed her skills in floral arrangeing and event planning, channeling her creative energy and meticulous attention to detail into crafting seamless and joyful occasions. Her passion for making a positive impact shines through her extensive community work where she has successfully planned and executed numerous fundraising events and created unique floral centerpieces, demonstrating her ability to not only create beautiful events but also to manage large-scale projects with significant results.

Whether it’s a holiday centerpiece, wedding flowers or a large-scale fundraiser, Saskia will approach each project with the same dedication and artistry she brings to her music, ensuring every detail is perfectly in tune.
